We love comedy that’s bold and innovative, that’s playful and daring. And funny. Comedy that’s funny.
We’re behind the Wells Comedy Festival in Somerset, now in its fifth year, which has featured Stewart Lee, Rhod Gilbert, Bridget Christie, Joe Lycett, Alexei Sayle and many more. We produce regular comedy nights in London including large-scale gigs in Dulwich and Hackney – where guests have included James Acaster, Sara Pascoe, Tim Key and Reginald D Hunter – and monthly shambles 110% John Kearns and Pat Cahill.
We produce shows at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and on tour including, in 2018, Lou Sanders’s award-winning ‘Shame Pig’ and, in 2017, Lucy Pearman’s Edinburgh Comedy Award Best Newcomer-nominated ‘Maid of Cabbage’.
Recently, we’ve booked westcountry work-in-progress dates for James Acaster and Dylan Moran, and booked the comedy stage for Time Out’s 50th birthday festival in Granary Square, King’s Cross.
We produce audio content and podcasts, including the ‘Audible Presents’ radio series for Audible.co.uk. And we work as Talent Set Consultants for TV, including at the Just for Laughs Festival in Montreal.
Our services include tour booking, programming, directing, writing, editing and consulting.
Plosive was founded in January 2017 by ex-Time Out Comedy Editor Ben Williams and sold over 13,000 tickets to its events in its first year. We have a vast network of international contacts and over a decade of experience in the comedy industry across PR, live promotion, programming and journalism.
